I cannot say enough about Prestige’s commitment to delivering me, as the client, a house that was how I wanted it. I would often get a call from Terry, letting me know that they were about to do something, explain the manner in which they would normally do it, and have me say “but I want to do it differently!” Terry would say “yes, we thought you might”. I am so grateful to have worked with a team who so openly embraced my wishes and who were so client-focused.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visits on-site, was always welcomed and treated with respect. As a woman client I particularly appreciated this, and from time to time I needed technical details explained to me. This was never done in a patronising manner, and everyone on the job patiently and generously spent time with me when I turned up to view progress, ask questions or interfere!
Terry communicated with me constantly about progress and involved me in any decision-making and problem solving, which was always tackled with passion, practicality and good humour. ‘Thinking outside the square’ was no problem when it came to satisfying some of my aesthetic desires. (E.g., my wanting full-height sliding doors with exposed hanging mechanisms, we used industrial solutions). Research and inventiveness was necessary when using some materials out of their usual context.
The long and stressful process of house building can leave relationships somewhat frayed. I think it is worth saying that my building team did not just maintain a fantastic relationship with me during the long and arduous project, but we completed the house as friends.
I was recently out of the country for some time, and my son was housesitting. There was a drama, which he was unsure of handling. He rang Terry to ask advice. Terry organised immediately to pull contractors off the job he was working on to fix my problem. In addition to making himself available several times during the building of my house, sometimes in the middle of the night over matters not strictly his responsibility, he had to deal with a difficult and unpleasant neighbour, whose house backed on to the site. His courtesy, consideration and patience went well beyond the call of duty and even extended to some placating with bottles of wine.
I am delighted to be able to write this to endorse Nick and Terry and Prestige Construction. I unreservedly commend and thank them for their professionalism, sincerity and integrity. Their passion and commitment helped make building an on-going, exciting and rewarding experience for me.

To Whom It May Concern
Engaging the services of Prestige Construction to build out new home was one of the best decisions we have ever made.
Nick Holcroft and Terry O’Connor oversaw each step of what was, at times, a challenging construction. We found that both were very approachable throughout the building process, willing to discuss our questions and listening to our concerns. Their professionalism, both in terms of advice and attention to detail together with their team of builders, delivered an Award Winning Homebuilt to the highest standards of workmanship.
Our house, now almost four years old, has given us much pleasure that we anticipate will continue for many years to come. It is a delight to live in and continues to attract admiring glances and comments, from both our own visitors and the many casual passer bys who walk or drive past it each day.

Mainzel Property & Construction
We have had a long involvement with Prestige Construction including several large commercial and residential projects in Hamilton, Rotorua, Ohakune and Auckland.
Our association commenced with them carrying out the extensions to the Hamilton Airport Motor Inn in 2000. This comprised a 400sq.m. conference centre, 26 two level accommodation units, gymnasium and swimming pool.
The project was completed ahead of time and budget and laid the foundation for the very satisfactory and successful working relationship which continues today eight years later.
After introducing us to the merits of concrete tilt panel construction at Hamilton Airport Prestige used the same mythology in constructing the Ventura Hotel for us in Clarance Street Hamilton in 2001.
Once again this project was completed extremely satisfactorily and this was made even more commendable by the fact that we pushed another project onto them at the same time, The Peaks Motor Inn a 23 room Motor Inn and Conference centre in Ohakune. Prestige managed to get this completed for us in August of that year which was well in time for the bulk of the ski season.
In 2002 Prestige built our second Ventura Hotel, the Ventura lnn And Suites Rotorua. Once again this project was completed very successfully being both on time and within budget.
Prestige are currently constructing a 72 room extension to our Ventura Hotel at Auckland Airport and are well on target to meet timing and budget expectations despite the hugely adverse weather conditions we have been experiencing.
Between the Rotorua Ventura and this current project Prestige were involved in the construction of several Apartment/ Town House blocks for us in Hamilton. Once again these were all completed with a great deal of satisfaction from both sides.
We have had a very successful working relationship with Prestige Construction on many varied projects over the past eight years. It is testament to their expertise and professionalism that in this current financially tighter climate they have the full confidence of our Bankers and Bank appointed Quantity Surveyor / Project Advisor and that we are involved with them again on what is our largest project to date.
